Dewey and Karen Guida, opened Dee Jay’s as a night club on October 1, 1980. The remodeled 2000 sq. ft. former car wash was decorated with a look of the tropics. Dewey decided to turn the lounge into a restaurant and realized he would need a unique and special product to stand out.

After months of testing different products, a recipe for BBQ Ribs was developed that has truly become Famous throughout the Ohio Valley and beyond. Famous sports figures from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates, celebrities, and musicians were often seen at the tropical restaurant eating racks of fall off the bone BBQ Pork Ribs, with Potato Skins covered with cheese and bacon bits, and delicious Homestyle Onion Ring Loaf.

After 24 years of operating in the small converted car wash and serving thousands of pounds of ribs, the decision was made to build a 6000 sq. ft restaurant with plenty of parking and easy access off the US Route 22 and Three Springs Drive Exit in Weirton, WV. The comfortable 210 seat restaurant also has a "Safari Room" which is perfect for lunch meetings, celebrations or any occasion.

Customers are coming to Dee Jay’s from all over the U.S. to eat the delicious BBQ Ribs and enjoy the ambiance of the newly built Tropical Restaurant and the expanded menu offerings, such as Mussels Marinara, BBQ Salmon, Chicken Marsala and New York Strip Steak to name a few.
